Savannah

In my tour of Savannah during my scholar-in-residence visit, I went to a cemetery and saw the graves of Mordechai and Frances Sheftall. Mordechai, a Colonel, was the highest ranking Jewish officer in Washington's Army!

You will be hearing more from me about Jews and the Revolution later this week. My colleague Paul Finkelman and I have just had an article published in the American Jewish Archives Journal, and I am excited to share it soon.
