Tonight is the 8th (and last night) of Hannukah. One of the important ideas of this holiday is the message that light can dispel darkness. The #ShineALightinitiative raises awareness about antisemitism through education, community partnerships, workplace engagement and advocacy.

On November 9, the anniversary of Kristallnacht, DelVal’s Honors Program welcomed Dr. Rabbi Lance J. Sussman, Ph.D. to share his family’s story of their escape from Nazi Germany and the importance of Holocaust education today. In addition to being a 2nd generation Holocaust survivor, Rabbi Sussman has a strong academic background in the topic. He specializes in the study of the Holocaust and genocide, and has taught many courses in Jewish history.
